My name is Tom Meier and I am a sports enthusiast. So, what does a sports enthusiast all include? Glad you asked. Well I love to talk and debate sports (I could so this all day if allowed), watch them, and even play them. But why am I interested in sports? All throughout my life, sports have been a big part of my life. When I was in grade school, I used to play basketball. Once I got to high school, I used to run cross country and I would go watch the football games on the weekends. As soon as I got to college, I did several things such as playing intramural sports, pick-up games of lacrosse and basketball with my friends. I also wrote sports articles for the school newspaper, and favorite of all I was a webcaster for the basketball, baseball, and softball teams at my college. It was during the webcasting that I saw how much more involved and talkative about sports that I really was. I could go back and forth with my co-casters about stats and scores, and I really enjoyed talking to and interviewing players and coaches. Because of this interested, I finished college with a degree in sports communications. When I wasn’t doing things at school, I would go home and have sports related conversations with my two brothers all the time. So, as you can see I was and am heavily interested in the sports world.

As for my blog, here is where the games begin. I love to watch and talk about all types of sports, but my main topics will be basketball, baseball, and football.  I plan to do certain specials depending on what is going on at that time to try to include more fans. Now, I was born and raised in Chicago, so I do have a certain affinity for Chicago based teams, but I will dive into other teams and give them time as well. My passion for sports has created a continuously burning flame to talk to others and see their perspective on issues, see what they think of a certain trade, or just see how they believe a certain team will do. I am here to be that go-to guy. I will be going through subjects both big and small and giving you my perspective on it.

In closing, I hope you all enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy writing them. I hope it gives you a new way to look at things, and sparks you to talk sports with all your friends, co-workers, family, whomever it may be. We might not always have the same ideas, but we will still have the same fun in discussing them.

Casual fans need not apply.

Its Game Time.
